Social Housing
São Paulo, Brazil
Led by Swen Geiss and designed by the Brazilian architect Fabio Rudnik, this was a project exploring ways of delivering low-cost energy-efficient housing in São Paulo, Brazil to replace the current 'CDHU' housing developments. With data supplied by the Laboratorio de Conforto Ambiental e Efficiencia Energetica (LCAEE) at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, University of São Paulo, we looked at ways of ameliorating excessive electricity use, internal discomfort and cramped conditions, as well as providing mixed use and much greater spatial variety on site.
